Global Innovation Center

With a design that supports creativity and collaboration, the Wrigley Global Innovation Center (GIC) is a critical part of accelerating the Wrigley vision of weaving products into the fabric of everyday life around the world. Located in Chicago, Illinois, the three-story laboratory and office building opened its doors in May, 2005. This state-of-the-art facility helps in creating consumer-driven innovation in Wrigley's products, packaging and processes.

LEED Gold Certification

In January 2009, the GIC earned Gold LEED certification. LEED certification - which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - is a third party accreditation system and nationally accepted benchmark for green buildings. The hallmarks of a LEED-certified building are its environmental, economic and health benefits. Certification acknowledges they are energy-efficient, designed to minimize strain on local infrastructure and reduce overall operating costs, among other benefits.

The GIC's adjoining Pilot Plant is used to test new machinery and manufacturing processes. The gum samples produced in the Pilot Plant are used for screening prototypes, consumer testing and analytical evaluations.

From the latest technology and flexible workspace to the Winter Garden and Pilot Plant, the GIC is a global resource to support Wrigley's growth as a leading confectionery company.
