The Wrigley Science Advisory Council

The Wrigley Science Advisory Council

Wrigley is committed to pursuing a high-quality and cutting-edge level of science around gum and confections. The Wrigley Science Advisory Council (WSAC) was formed to advance and share our scientific research by establishing advisory boards and peer reviews as required.

The WSAC operates in conjunction with the Mars Science Advisory Council (MSAC), providing guidance on research and quality issues, as well as access to a vast external network that keeps the company abreast of advances, opportunities and challenges.

The WSAC is led by Dr. John W. Erdman, Jr. Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of Nutrition and Food Science in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, and in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Erdman leads a global advisory panel of highly respected, well-renowned experts in specific disciplines across the globe who rigorously peer-review Wrigley science.
